It was a few months ago, so I think that they have not changed any internal procedures since then. The procedure was very simple. I just had to provide my ID document with my picture on it. My initial funding was in XRP, I have used their option to convert crypto into btc. It was very swift and easy, without any sort of issues. Well, I have used this option only once. If I remember well there has not been any sort of fees, but the exchange rate was a few pips different from current spot price.
