marnieswan
Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to figure out which app is better for watching IPTV on my Mac — DoCast or iWebTV. I mostly use it to stream live TV and sometimes mirror videos from my iPhone to the big screen. I’ve heard both have pros and cons, but I’m not sure which one would give me a smoother experience overall, especially with casting and playlist management. Anyone tried both? What do you recommend? LarryCrow1992
Hey! I’ve actually spent quite some time testing both DoCast and iWebTV on my Mac, so I might help you out here. From what I’ve seen, DoCast is pretty straightforward with its user interface and supports a wide range of playlist formats, which is great if you have different IPTV subscriptions or files. It also lets you cast video from your iPhone directly to your TV through the Mac, which can be super convenient if you’re watching something stored locally or from a streaming app. On the other hand, iWebTV feels a bit more polished in terms of streaming live channels, with better buffering and fewer crashes for me. But its playlist management isn’t as flexible as DoCast’s. If you want a detailed comparison, this page sums it up nicely: cast video from iPhone to TV — it covers everything from casting options to supported formats. Honestly, if casting iPhone videos to TV through Mac is your main use case, DoCast might edge out slightly, but for IPTV stability, iWebTV wins in my experience. What kind of IPTV content do you mostly watch?
marnieswan
It sounds like it depends a lot on what you prioritize—playlist flexibility or streaming stability. I guess trying both for a few days is the way to go to see which one fits your style better. Also, the way they handle casting from iPhone could be a dealbreaker for some users.
