Henry Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Right now Gold (~$5,090) and Silver (~$110) are going up, while Bitcoin (~$87,800) keeps going down. Kinda weird to watch, honestly. I need advice. Do you feel like BTC is just gonna stay this unstable and it’s better to move into stuff like precious metals, or is this just a temporary thing and it’s still fine to keep holding?
MenAnthony Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I see it more as a rotation, not something broken. When things feel shaky, money often runs into gold and silver first, that’s normal. Bitcoin has always been volatile, so moves like this don’t really surprise me. I wouldn’t rush to dump BTC just because metals are pumping right now. This stuff is usually temporary, and it’s better not to react emotionally to it. 1
AliceSun Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I don’t think BTC suddenly stopped being BTC. It’s always been volatile, and periods like this happen pretty often. Gold and silver moving up usually means people are playing it safe for a while, not that crypto is done. Personally, I’m not rushing to switch everything into metals just because of a short downtrend. I’m fine holding and waiting it out instead of chasing whatever is pumping right now. 1
LedgerHopper Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Gold and silver are not the new Bitcoin, but they share similar roles. They are long-standing stores of value and hedges against inflation, while Bitcoin adds portability, scarcity by code, and digital transferability. Rather than replacing Bitcoin, precious metals complement it, appealing to investors seeking stability alongside innovation. 1
Henry Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Ok, that makes sense. I'm new to crypto and a little panicked. Bitcoin hasn't dropped like this in a long time.
tradesprint Posted February 2 Posted February 2 This is the market movement and basically all the trading follow the same mechanism, like go up then little pull back and so on. There is no commodity which can directly go up straight so you can be comfortable with time and learn it. 1
