I’ve been observing a wave of healthy competition among the top crypto exchanges lately Bitget, Binance, Bybit, and a few others. Bitget recently announced it’s evolving into a universal exchange, where users can access everything from solid tokens to meme coins, and even traditional stocks. That kind of expansion could change how people view centralized exchanges entirely.

Interestingly, rumors suggest other tier 1 platforms are preparing similar upgrades to stay relevant. It feels like the race to become a one stop financial ecosystem has officially begun. Do you think this broader approach will strengthen user trust or make exchanges too complex over time?

I think over time the big exchanges will absorb the smaller ones, just like in big business. We’ll probably end up with something like Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo (like Binance, Bybit, and Coinbase). Those three giants control the game console market and basically kill off smaller projects so they don’t become future competition. I think crypto exchanges will move in a similar direction over time.

You are right that a clear shift is underway. Platforms like Bitget, Binance, and Bybit are no longer competing only on trading fees or liquidity, but on ecosystem breadth.

A broader, “universal exchange” model can strengthen user trust if execution is disciplined, there is clear product separation, strong compliance, and transparent risk management. However, overexpansion without UX clarity or regulatory alignment could easily create complexity and dilute confidence.

In short, the strategy is sound, but success will depend on focus and governance, not just feature volume.
