AllCharge.online Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Crypto business in Russia could become legal in 2026 The First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia has announced that companies could receive licenses as early as the end of this year, provided the Ministry of Justice registers the necessary documentation. He noted that the launch hinges on the Ministry of Justice; if everything proceeds on schedule, the crypto industry will begin operating legally. The Bank of Russia has included Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether on the list of cryptocurrencies approved for public circulation. Non-professional investors will be permitted to purchase these assets, subject to an annual limit of 300,000 rubles. All buyers must complete a test and review the associated risks. The regulator has prepared the required documents for registration with the Ministry of Justice, including regulations governing the admission of custodians and crypto exchanges. To mitigate risks to the banking sector, the Bank of Russia is introducing a 1% cap on investments in digital currencies. The Ministry of Finance is also participating in the monitoring of the digital currency market. Sber is already offering cross-border cryptocurrency payments to corporate clients, even though the use of cryptocurrency for domestic settlements remains prohibited.
