Can events and promotions be considered as a profit option in crypto?

Over the years we've always heard of events and promotions from different brands, project etc, but It does look like now more than ever, a lot more people are leaning towards them in web3 for making extra profits. 

This kind of stuff has always been there but I think because of the bull run and the fact that a lot of these tier 1 platforms are trying to increase their user base, there's an increasing number of events, and to be fair, a good number of them have very impressive rewards all things considered.  

If you check online, be it, twitter, reddit or any other SNS you use, you'll see events like the one below, or something from Bi nance, Bybit OKX etc that would reward you for certain tasks.
