Kenneth Slate Posted Wednesday at 08:53 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:53 AM A while ago, I would have assumed that launching a crypto casino required a fairly large development team, a substantial budget, and months of coordinating different specialists. After going through the process myself, I realized that the biggest change isn't that building a casino has become effortless. It's that you no longer have to build everything from scratch. AI played a pretty significant role in making the whole process more manageable, especially when it came to research/planning/comparing solutions. And AI helped me understand the technical side. One of the first things I used ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity for was figuring out what actually goes into running a crypto casino behind the scenes. I wanted to understand how the different components fit together: the casino platform, game providers, crypto payment gateways, player account management, KYC providers, reporting tools, and so on. AI also helped me think through the target market and localization. Eventually, I decided to start with a locally focused website because I believe it would be easier to promote and build a recognizable brand in a specific market rather than trying to target everyone from day one. At the same time, I wanted a platform that wouldn't limit my options if I decided to expand into other markets later. Instead of contacting suppliers without really knowing what to ask, I used AI to compare different approaches, identify potential pitfalls, and put together a list of requirements. This was especially useful when researching casino platform providers. I collected the options I could find, organized them into a comparison table, and narrowed the list down to several providers worth contacting directly. Looking back, I'd estimate that AI saved me several weeks of searching and analyzing different options. Obviously, it didn't make the decisions for me, and I still had to verify things and speak with providers, but it made the initial research much more efficient. Initially, it's tempting to think that building your own platform from scratch is the best way to maintain control. In reality, it can mean spending a lot of money on development before you've even validated the business idea. So I started looking at existing casino platforms and turnkey solutions instead. The idea was pretty straightforward: use established infrastructure for the things that don't necessarily make your business unique, and focus your resources on the brand, user experience, target audience, customer acquisition, etc. For a small team, this approach makes much more sense to me. You don't necessarily need to hire developers to build every component yourself when much of the infrastructure is already available. AI can also help with documentation, technical research, testing scenarios, and smaller development tasks along the way. Crypto payments turned out to be a separate challenge 🙂 One thing I realized pretty quickly is that a crypto casino isn't just a regular online casino with a Bitcoin logo on the homepage. Payment infrastructure needs to be reliable, transaction statuses have to be handled correctly, and you need clear procedures for deposits, withdrawals, reconciliation, and suspicious transactions. I used AI to organize the questions I needed to ask payment providers and think through potential edge cases before getting into the actual integration process. These details might seem minor when you're just planning the project, but they become extremely important when you're dealing with real customer funds. Overall, the idea of launching a locally focused casino has worked out pretty well, because getting traffic in a specific market has been much easier than trying to compete head-to-head with the big players in the industry. Now I'm considering my next move: scaling the business. I have an idea of launching 2, maybe 3 more sites, but I haven't figured out the best way to approach it yet. Sorry if this post is a bit all over the place. Writing isn't really my strong suit, and I'm not trying to present myself as an expert. I'm just sharing my experience so far and would genuinely like to hear some outside opinions.
