why are you posting this information Alice? i do have a mini dachshund and she is 5 years old now.. do you want my dog to die soon? well my dog is still active and she (i think) is not suffering from any illness...

If I remember correctly, I've read from somewhere that 1 dog year is equivalent to 7 human year. So if that average is correct the dog's life span is not far off from us humans since 10 dog years = 70 human years.

I guess you need to cherish each moment with your pet since its going to live about 1/5 of your life span (assuming you live up to 70 years old)

I did not mean it that way. I did not intend for you to misinterpret to happen to your pet. Yeah, just get a another one younger so you'll spend much more time with it.
