What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound? Well, originally it was just a spring falling off a desk. To be more precise, it was the desk belonging to marine engineer Richard James, who sometime in 1940 noticed that when the spring fell, it stumbled and tumbled across the floor for a while before laying to rest. After a few prototypes, the Slinky was ready to be introduced to toy stores in 1948, where it became one of the most popular and iconic toys of all time.

James’ wife Betty was the one who came up with the name “Slinky”, and has been CEO of the company since 1960. Over 250 million Slinkies have been sold worldwide, and they were even used as mobile radio antennae during the Vietnam war. B)

so it means i'm significant to you lol. okay, i don't see children having this kind of toy nowadays, i guess it will be better to introduce this again to kids. sure, i will remember my childhood through them.

hmmm.. you gave me the idea.. why wont i look for it in the toy store..hehehe i miss that toy... especially when you try to roll it down the stairs..hehehe

Posted

yeah its a really fun toy but don't play it now because you're not too young to do it. let the children in your house do the honor lol. buy them.

Posted

so you mean the toy is now gone in the market? i dont remember seeing it too the last time i went to the mall. just give it as a gift to kids if you ever get one online.

Posted

il try too look for it in the mall this week end... il tell you the result later..if still i cant find one. i already found a site that sells online.. its cheap... :)

Posted

well you cant just buy one piece online right, i think it must be in a dozen! do you remember how it cost then?

Posted

$8 per piece, so that' about 344 pesos? still expensive for an old toy. just look for it in your area maybe there's something cheaper. or in some other siites.

Posted

ya, it is expensive. so that is why i need to look for display in the mall... i believe it is cheaper in here..if you can find also from your place,, please tell me..
