Just sharing what happened to me recently because I honestly don’t know what else to do at this point. My Litecoin wallet got hacked a week ago and I lost a little over $30,000 in one hit. I still can’t explain how the hacker got in, but they drained everything within minutes.
After stressing for days, I ended up hiring a recovery expert I found on anonymous-hackers-for-hire·com who was able to recover about $18,500 worth of the stolen funds. Since the hacker routed part of it through ETH, he returned it to my Ethereum wallet. I double-checked it myself the funds were really there.
The problem now is the remaining over $12,000. He told me that part had already been converted into fiat and withdrawn into a bank account , which makes it almost impossible for him to trace or pull back without some kind of legal intervention (considering he's a blackhat hacker and all).
So I’m stuck.
Does anyone know if there’s any way to go after the remaining $12k?
Like, is there anything legally or technically I can do at this point?
I’m open to any advice because losing that chunk is still eating at me.
Also can someone recommend a hardware wallet please .
