EUR/JPY's movement is in an intriguing phase, influenced by structural changes in Japan and a generally defensive European monetary policy. The Japanese Yen recently hit a 40-year low, yet the Japanese bond market is experiencing turbulence. The Bank of Japan (BoJ) has raised interest rates to 1.00%. This tightening measure—combined with market concerns regarding the Japanese government's $2 trillion long-term spending plan—has pushed the yield on 10-year Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) to 2.87%, the highest level since 1996. Markets are beginning to anticipate that the era of cheap currency in Japan is truly over. Speculation that the BoJ must act aggressively to curb inflation and stabilize the currency is providing a floor of support, preventing the JPY from falling further. Technically, EURJPY is currently trading above its 50-day moving average. The pair is expected to trade within a range of approximately 184.20–186.20. Immediate support lies around 184.80, with the next target at 184.20. Immediate resistance is near 185.80, with the next target around 186.20. This forecast could be wrong.
