Mdraghib Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I’ve been reading a lot about algorithmic trading lately, and I’m curious about real experiences from traders here. Some say algorithms are the future of trading because they remove emotions and can execute faster than humans. Others argue that without a solid strategy, even the best code won’t help. So my question is: For those who have tried algorithmic trading, did it actually give you a consistent edge over manual trading? Or is success still mainly about strategy, market knowledge, and risk management?
tradesprint Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Most traders prefer manual trading however if you have any specific trading strategy you can get it coded in to an EA to go automated.
pradegxs Posted yesterday at 09:04 AM Posted yesterday at 09:04 AM Algos shine when they encode a tested rule set. I run a small EA for session range breaks and handle news/manual adds myself; what moved the needle was strict risk caps (max DD, per-trade %), not the code
tradesprint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago These EA can require monitoring too during the high volatile market so a little knowledge about coding can be really helpful else they may backfire during the high tides.
